Research Fellowship
A free, year-long biomedical research program that prepares high school students through advanced training, mentorship, and hands-on research experiences.
Overview of Fellowship
The Research Fellowship runs from September 2026 to April 2027. Fellows train in advanced biology and biomedical science, research and lab skills, and statistics, and then have the opportunity to be matched into a mentored summer research experience at a partner lab. The training is a standalone program, so fellows are prepared before any placement rather than learning on the job. The entire fellowship is free.
What You’ll Learn
Across 22 modules over two semesters, fellows cover six areas:
Biomedical science foundations
Experimental design and statistics
Core lab techniques
Literature analysis
Data interpretation
Scientific communication

The training is the core of the program. A lab placement is an additional opportunity on top of it and is not guaranteed for every fellow. Matches depend on lab availability, your location, and each lab's requirements. Fellows without a nearby in-person placement may be matched to a virtual research experience.
